1 more day until the motown concert.
    4 more days until banquet.
7 more days until finals start.
11 more days until it all ends.

Even though I'm competely excited for summer break to finally start, I'm even more excited for next year. It's going to be the last year and classes are going to be great. Applying for college would most likely be a pain in the ass but, it'll all pay off one way or another.

(I forgot what I was going to write in here.) Goals.

Well, today's Memorial day holiday therefore no one had school. I ate sushi for breakfast (never did that before) and then went to the bookstore with my friend. I have a chemistry lab write-up that's due tomorrow and i am only 1/3 done. I also have a math test I have to take along with Raquel, Saba, and Sony since we missed it last week; (btw, me + math = horrible). I'm probably going to finish up my lab after I eat and then study for the math test tonight.

This summer, I am going to finish my painting. Actually, I'm going to start on it as soon as my garage
becomes empty enough again for me to crash my paint there instead of making
a big ole mess in my room
    .
After I finish that, I'll probably start on another one...
one that is special enough... all of it should be finished before I turn legal.

I just hope I'll be able to have my weekends free.

This summer, I am not going back to Illinois. Sadly, I have to stay here for school... but my brother is going over there and he is going to have all the fun while I am here... melting in Texas weather, jk! I have a feeling I'm going to turn super tanned by the time school starts again. But anyways, Buddy and Domino are going to have more exercise, they'll be able to hit the park more and I'll be more happy. smiles

I finished Black and Blue. It was a good book. Not as great as I thought it would be but, I'll always like books that I could relate to. Now I'm just reading another book for summer reading and hopefully, it's not a boring book. I doubt it is but who knows, I could be wrong.

  • no time

it really is true that as you get older, you run out of time.
but i am going to dedicate this time to myself and write a blog.

I am so glad that AP testing is almost over. I have done 2/3 tests and now I am now taking a break from studying for the English one. The US History was not too bad but the Chemistry is a whole different story. I think if I had studied for it more, I would've been less anxious; but at least it's over with.

So this past weekend, I went to the 2008 CHS PROM smiles
along with the lovely people I went with--Michelle/Jose, Tien/Kayur, Truc/Daniel, Trang/Jimmy, Amanda, Yen/Mark, Hieu and Kenneth. I woke up that morning all happy and pumped for the day, I had my hair done by Bang but then decided that I wanted it down (last minute decision). I was clueless on where we were meeting up to leave all together but Kenneth called me in time to tell me that we were meeting at his house. We all met up with an exception of one but we were fine by the time we left for dinner. We had a good dinner at Chinatown Restaurant and everyone was happy. Prom pictures were good, everything was good and I am glad that I could be there for Kenneth, being be a part of his senior year that is (no problem, Kenneth!). So yeah, after dinner we left to a higher elevation (inside joke). They had the prom at the Austin Country Club (not sure) and it was a little stuffy, I admit. The Arabian Nights theme was good, the area was nice, but the place was a little small... especially the dance floor. It was so hot and humid, I'll blame the weather for that. Overall, the prom itself was fine.

After prom, I stayed out a little longer and visited some friends but then left and stopped by iHop. iHop was completely full at 3am so I head home and slept 'til like, 9am. Didn't get too much sleep but knowing that it was Mother's Day pumped me up and my day slowly ended gracefully :) the end!

hmm.. what else, I feel so full of myself when I write a blog, but what the heck, it's not like I do this all the time, right? So nowadays, I've been so lazy with myself to the point where I don't even wear jeans much anymore. I wear dresses and anything that flows because it is so much comfortable and when you go to the bathroom, you wouldn't have to waste any second trying to unbuckle your jeans! (fyi: I only have 5 minutes to class and 5 minutes is not enough for me to pee, zip my jeans up, wash my hands, dry them with paper towels and then run to my class) I might be exaggerating but hey, ask anybody. I wear my glasses most of the time. People say I look so loser-ish but who cares! Who's going to look at me anyways, right? and besides, they could call me nerd, geek, or whatever and I'd still be hood (just playing lol). I just finished a book and now I'm starting on a new book called, Black and Blue by Anna Quindlen. I'm also planning on if I should go to Illinois this summer... that is, if I have the time to go there and visit people. But other than that, I think I am set for the rest of the year; minus August 26th, 2008 (aka first day of senior year).

Now, all I am looking forward to is school to be over with. Then my ACC classes, then comes my vacation. Doesn't seem much but believe me, I could sense that this summer is going to be the busiest summer everr. And it'll only get busier. But I can manage :) I'm strong enough smiles

  • 5 Veggies That Make Any Salad Super-Healthy

Posted Tue, Jul 31, 2007, 9:30 am PDT
    POST A COMMENT ยป

Those fresh, delicious summer salads that sustain life in sauna-like weather? They can do a lot more than keep you cool. In fact, five salad veggies turn out to be antioxidant superstars. Toss a handful into any bowl and you'll instantly up your defenses against everything from wrinkles to heart disease and even help make your RealAge younger. Then season some olive oil and vinegar with a few of the herbs and spices below and you'll punch up the antioxidant power even more. Health food doesn't get any easy-breezier!

    5 Superstar Veggies
    Artichokes
    Radishes
    Broccoli
    Red chicory
    Leeks

    7 Stellar Seasonings
    Sage
    Rosemary
    Marjoram
    Thyme
    Tarragon
    Cumin
    Fresh ginger
    Garlic

    The #1 Vegetable
Of the 27 vegetables scientists studied, the almighty artichoke led the antioxidant pack. Plus it's rich in both fiber and folate, two good-for-you nutrients. Look for plump but compact globe-like artichokes with thick, green, fresh-looking scales.

    The Runners-Up
Radishes, broccoli, and even luscious leeks are stocked in most supermarkets. But what's red chicory? An Italian salad favorite with an oddly appealing bitter taste. Try mixing it with romaine.

    The High-Powered Herbs and Spices
Sage, rosemary, and thyme...when Simon and Garfunkel made them famous, nobody knew they had disease-fighting powers. Cumin, a spice used heavily in Indian food, is even more impressive, as is ginger. But experiment: All of these seasonings are simple ways to boost the health -- and flavor -- of any salad (soups too). Here's a get-you-started recipe.

    COOL-BEANS ARTICHOKE SALAD
This elegant mix is both light and filling -- perfect to serve a few friends on a sultry night.
    Serves 4

10 baby artichokes, peeled and quartered
    2 cups diagonally cut asparagus
    1/3 cup thinly sliced radishes
    3 green onions, thinly sliced
1 19-oz. can white beans, rinsed and drained
    3 cloves garlic, minced
    2 tsp. lemon juice
    1 Tbsp. olive oil
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. black pepper
    8 large romaine leaves

    1. Steam the artichokes for 8 minutes. Add the asparagus and steam about 2 minutes more, or until crisp-tender. Drain and run vegetables under cold water. Let cool.
    2. Make dressing: Whisk together garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
    3. Combine radishes, onions, and beans in salad bowl with half of dressing and toss well. Gently stir in artichokes and asparagus.
    4. To serve, place 2 romaine leaves each on four plates. Divide salad equally among plates and drizzle with remaining dressing.
